MAKER STUDIO FIELD TRIPS

The AIMS Maker Studio provides hands-on learning experiences that engage students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). During their visit, students will participate in guided activities designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and learning through making.

Field Trip Details

What’s included:

  • Experienced AIMS facilitators

  • Hands-on project facilitation

  • All project materials

Availability: Tuesdays and Thursdays  

Grade levels: 3rd-12th

Length of field trip: 1-3 hours

Group Size: up to 50 students

  • Adult-to-student ratio: 1 adult per 10 students  

  • Chaperones: Up to 5 chaperones are included in the price

  • Educators and support staff: Teachers and instructional support staff (such as paraeducators and aides) are also included in the price.

Activity Selection

1-hour session: Choose 1 activity. $500 up to 50 students

2-hour session: Choose up to 2 activities. $1000 up to 50 students

3-hour session: Choose up to 3 activities. $1500 up to 50 students

Paper Circuits

Explore the basics of electricity as you design and create a paper circuit using simple materials, LEDs, and batteries. Combine creativity and technology to make a light-up project of your own.

Paper Embroidery

Use needle and thread to create colorful designs, patterns, and images while learning basic embroidery techniques. This activity combines creativity, fine motor skills, and textile arts in a unique hands-on making experience.

Links and Levers

Explore the science of levers and linkages as you design, build, and test moving mechanisms. Experiment with how different connections and pivot points can create unique motions and bring your creations to life.
