MAKER STUDIO MANAGER

Ruthie Iglesias

New to the West Coast, Ruthie taught tech-integrated Art as a Makerspace Manager for 2 years in North Philadelphia and 1 year in West Philadelphia at project-based high schools. While Makerspace Manager, Ruthie taught projects like Hover Cars, block-printing, laser engraving, product prototyping, and machine sewing. Ruthie also taught at the college level at Penn State University and has worked in higher education at 3 other colleges on the East Coast. With a BFA from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (both in sculpture), Ruthie loves to create and problem-solve in 3D. During undergraduate and graduate study, Ruthie worked primarily in bronze casting, cardboard, and reclaimed materials. When she’s not in the studio, Ruthie spends time with her spouse and two cats gardening, cooking, and gaming.
